Tell me a little about yourself and/ or your business?
I started my business in September 2017, when I was 10. At first, I mostly sold cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc. but slowly started moving towards custom cakes and absolutely love making them! When I'm not baking, I go to school [in Year 9], do rowing and hang out with my friends. My business really only started getting consistent in lockdown/2020, which is when I first invested in CFC courses.
What’s your favourite cake you have made so far?
I love making cakes with fresh florals and also love using buttercream texture. it is also really fun when you get completely free reign and get to experiment - as I can only do a few cakes each week with school, I try to make each one a bit different so I can try lots of techniques. I have popped some photos below!

The hardest part of caking and/or small business?
Probably coming up with new ideas for every cake. Sometimes you have a flood of ideas when you get an enquiry and other times you need to dig a bit deeper into what they would like and how you can translate that into a cake. Also staying on top of admin - the gift that just keeps on giving!
What CF course/s you’ve taken?
I have taken the basic buttercream course, the tiered buttercream course and the arch cake course.
What made you want to take a CFC course?
When I had just started using SMBC, I was never getting smooth, air-bubble free buttercream and Eliza's looked perfect! For the tiered cake course, my tiered cakes were coming out wonky no matter how many re-measures of the central dowel I did, and for the arch course, I really wanted to learn how to make them and figures that learning the arch/rectangle could also translate into other shaped cakes. I first bought the buttercream and tiered cake bundle and after that and knowing how thorough the courses were, the arch one was a bit of a no-brainer.
What was your experience like and how has the course changed the way you cake?
I loved the CFC courses! They were super thorough and assumed a good amount of knowledge for a beginner-intermediate level. Compared to other courses I have taken - I thought Eliza's were great!
